FAQ

Are you really a “doctor?”

Yes. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I have my Psy.D.

Can you prescribe me medication?

No. I am not qualified to help you with medication needs or questions and would suggest asking your primary care provider for further direction or a referral.

Can you be my therapist?

Currently, the purpose of this website is not to provide clinical services. I am not accepting any inquiries related to new patients. While I do my best to provide clinically appropriate, evidenced-based, information relevant to my areas of competence, this is not clinical service. If you think you need a provider, please see the appropriate FAQ below for some guidance or speak to your PCP. If you are currently in crisis, please see the list of resources or contact your local crisis centre.

I think I know you, is that okay?

This is a public website, accessible to anyone. It is quite possible you may know me. If you think you know me professionally or personally, please do not be offended if I do not acknowledge you. This is to protect your confidentiality and unless you choose to out yourself or say something, I will not acknowledge knowing you first.

Can you do a post about _______?

Absolutely! If there is something you would like more information on, or you have additional questions about something I’ve posted, please feel free to send me a message any time through any of my platforms. I am more than happy to make posts for specific needs and inquiries. I will not, however, be providing diagnostic impressions or clinical advice.

Can you help me find a provider?

I can direct you to where you might begin your search. It helps to know what you’re looking for and for what you’re going to therapy. A general search on Psychology Today (you can edit country in the top corner) is a good place if you’re not sure. If you do know, there are some specific directories to try. The ADAA offers options for anxiety and mood specialists, and The IOCDF is specific to OCD-spectrum. While you can apply many filters on Psychology Today, some specialized therapies have their own directories. For example, to find a DBT therapist one place is the Behavioral Tech. The other option, and where most people wanting to use insurance should start is to call your insurance company and ask for a list of providers in your area. This guarantees insurance coverage, but the rest is up to you (call them and interview them).

Can I share your posts?

Absolutely! Just link it back to the site, or tag me on my socials. The information is meant to be shared.

I’d like to contact you about a business inquiry.

All business inquiries or questions can be sent directly through the contact form on the website.
